Beta readers receive a draft during revision — not an ARC. What they offer is observation, not copy-editing. Pacing, character clarity, confusion. The book is not finished; that’s the point.
What beta readers do
- Read a complete but unfinished manuscript — usually 80,000–90,000 words
- Complete a structured feedback form covering pacing, character clarity, and emotional beats
- Return feedback within 3–4 weeks of receiving the manuscript
- Keep the content confidential until publication
Who we're looking for
Readers who finish books. Readers who can articulate what isn’t working, not just what is. Prior beta reading experience is helpful but not required. Psychological fiction readers preferred.
What to expect
